The 65th Circle Time: The Show and Tell Weekly Thread
Show and Tell is wasted on elementary schoolers. Join several dozen bloggers weekly to show off an item, tell a story, and get the attention of the class. In other words, this is Show and Tell 2.0. Everyone is welcome to join, even if you have never posted before and just found out about Show and Tell for the first time today. So yank out a photo of the worst bridesmaid’s dress you ever wore and tell us the story; show off the homemade soup you cooked last night; or tell us all about the scarf you made for your first knitting project. Details on how to participate are located at the bottom of this post.
Let’s begin.
One trip to the farm today = 4 rustic tarts: peach, raspberry, strawberry, and blueberry. Served with cream. This is how I spent my afternoon.
I am so in love with making pastry.
Click here or scroll down to the bottom of this post if this is your first time joining along (Important: link to the permalink for the post, not the main url for your blog and use your blog’s name, not your name. Links not going to a Show and Tell post will be deleted). The list is open from now until late Friday night and a new one is posted every week.

- If you would like to join circle time and show something to the class, simply post each Wednesday night (or any time between Wednesday morning and Friday night), hopefully including a picture if possible, and telling us about your item. It can be anything–a photo from a trip, a picture of the dress you bought this week, a random image from an old yearbook showing a person you miss. It doesn’t need to contain a picture if you can’t get a picture–you can simply tell a story about a single item. The list opens every Wednesday night and closes on Friday night.
- You must mention Show and Tell and include a link back to this post in your post so people can find the rest of the class. This spreads new readership around through the list. This is now required.
- Label your post “Show and Tell” each week and then come back here and add the permalink for the post via the Mr. Linky feature (not your blog’s main url–use the permalink for your specific Show and Tell post).
- Oh, and then the point is that you click through all of your classmates and see what they are showing this week. And everyone loves a good “ooooh” and “aaaah” and to be queen (or king) of the playground for five minutes so leave them a comment if you can.
- Did you post a link and now it’s missing?: I reserve the right to delete any links that are not leading to a Show and Tell post or are the blogging equivalent of a spitball.
- If you want it…
I’ve now placed a Show and Tell archive on the sidebar that will be updated each week in case you miss it. And click here for the icon code if you wish to have it for your blog. It links to the archives.

I want those raspberry ones RIGHT NOW.
If I lived next door to you, I'd be 250 pounds heavier, for sure.
mmmmm. They look good.
I've also got pastry nailed. Not entirely true. I have tarts nailed. (that sounds much ruder than intended) My two best tarts are poached plum in almond frangipane and creme brulee with a touch of ginger and some pistachios – only I don't yet have a blow torch for the top so i'm yet to perfect the toffee layer on these ones. But they taste amazing.
Fresh picked fruit is tasty huh.
enjoy. We'll enjoy them virtually which is kinda handy because a lot more people can enjoy the same amount of work.

So. Freaking. Jealous. Not that I would have been any fun today. Grumblegrumble.
I have eating pastry pretty much nailed.
And I have thought for a long time that you always take very lovely photos of whatever it is that you're showing. Someday I will emulate you. For now, it's enough that I show. 🙂
Oh, Mel. We should move the Show & Tell to a Show & Taste. I'd be there in a heartbeat.
Raspberry please.
This post almost had me bolting for the kitchen to bake.
Drool, drool.
Would you believe, I've never made pastry?? Helped my mom, bought frozen pie crust, but never made it myself. Not that I need pies & tarts sitting around my house. Especially when they look as mouthwatering as yours!
Um…YUM! You are a kitchen goddess.
Those look delicious!
WOW, those are beautiful! I made a blueberry pie for the first time in ages; not quite as good as my Mom's but not bad. such a classic summer treat.
No one has spoken for the peach or strawberry, so I'd be happy to take those off your hands. Recipe?
This is sort of the recipe I used, obviously putting in a bunch of other fruits. And changing a few things around. But I jumped from this recipe:

OMG those look so good. Recipe please?
mmm, tarts.
I had to use tinyurl for my link, as the url came out really funny…I hope it works. :-/ I'm not linking it to the archive, though, as tinyurl won't last forevah.
And I am so in love with eating pastry!
A match made in heaven.
Oh, I was so about to go to bed and now I am wondering if I can stay up and make a pastry…
My mouth is watering
The hardest thing in the world to me is making pastry. Baking is such a mystery!
BTW, I linked to this week's circle using the linky thing, but i put my blogger name instead of my blog title in the list. If it's fixable, could you fix it for me? My blog name is It's Stork Season…And I Bagged My Limit (not Fiddle1). Duh on my part!
I'm so glad I just had some cake. THos look fabulous!!
*drool*…where do you keep them? Have to.find.out.a.way.to.get.my.hands.on.those!
oh my. I want one of those pastries.
And I promise. I'll so a show in tell next week. I've NEVER done it!

Ummmmm …. if I showed Dave that picture of those pies, he would divorce me, fly to Washington, and try to marry you. YUUUUUM

Wheeee! looks yummy. Dangerously yummy.
And I am baaaaaaaaack for show and tell myself. Admit it– you totally missed me, right? 🙂
Thanks for destroying my afternoon, Mel. I have a ton of stuff to do and will now spend the rest of the day wiping drool from my chin and googling tart recipes. I have short pastry making down fairly well, but that looks to me like yeasted pastry dough – is it? Either way I am swooning with desire for a slice of each of those tarts.
Yum. Just– Yum.
YUM! I LOVE making rustic fruit tarts like that. I wish we were neighbors – I have a feeling we'd spend a lot of time baking together.
Salivating. Those look truly mouth-watering! YUM!
gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. I share your love of baking, and making your own pastry dough is SO worth the extra effort! I love cooking in the summer!
Mmm!!! Those look DE-LISH!

They look delicious!
