The Hardest Level of Candy Crush Redux
The next one of my Christmas gifts to you is an update on the hardest level of Candy Crush as crowdsourced by tons of players. I never closed that original poll, and people kept answering. (Feel free to leave your answer there if you wish. Maybe I’ll revisit this again in a few months.) In fact, hundreds of people kept answering. So I figured it was worth a relook if new answers skewed the results.
Why is it important to know the hardest level? Because then you can anticipate, plan ahead, and hoard boosters from the prize wheel. Why the hell would you spend a lollipop hammer on level 31 if you know that in two boards, you’re going to have to clear a lot of jelly? It also helps, when you’re stuck, to know other people got stuck in the same place too.
So, to review, when I first wrote the post, the hardest level was 65. The other nine most dreaded levels were: 33, 70, 79, 97, 125, 147, 165, 252, and 410.
The least favourite level has changed over time to become level 33. It ousted 65 from the most hated spot. In fact, level 33 earned 24% of the vote. Whereas only 13% of the people answered that they disliked level 65. Also added to that original list are multiple votes for levels 23, 29, and 30.
There is the problem that more people have encountered those lower levels vs. the higher levels, and therefore, while they may really dislike 33, they have no clue that 350 is going to suck hardcore. So the results definitely skew towards those first 200 levels. There was also a tendency to dislike recent boards. In other words, a lot of people who reported hating 97 were either still on 97 or were below 100.
Still, there’s more to be learned if we look at types of boards. 30% of people hate bring down the ingredients boards. Only 22% of you hate clear the jelly. And 30% hate timed levels. I should add to that more options, some of which I didn’t even know about when I wrote that poll: the cannons, the chocolate machines, licorice, the 5-break whipped cream, and bombs bombs bombs bombs bombs bombs.
Okay, so start pre-dreading levels 23, 29, 30, 33, 65, 70, 79, 97, 125, 147, 165, 252, and 410. And if you’re past them, breathe a huge sigh of relief.

I just reached 79, and I’m having a really tough time with it. I’m out of lives at the moment, so I’m waiting, waiting, waiting to try again. Ugh. So frustrating!
Level 213 was the one where I was stuck the longest. I do not pay for extras. My acerage advance is 3 levels per day. I work at a full time job 9 hours a day, monday though Friday, so I play in spare time. I am now at level 230.

Why is 33 considered a hard level??? I keep seeing it come up on numerous websites so I went back to it and beat it on my first try (after getting through it months ago). I’m stuck on 421 and 33 pales on comparison. In fact, no one online is talking about 421 which is baffling. I guess all I can say is don’t comment on what a “hard” level is if you’ve been playing for 2 weeks.
I, too, think 421 is the worst. I’ve been here for days and never got more than 5 of the required 7 stripe/stripe combos because sometimes they just spontaneously explode or the tornado takes ’em out.
I’m pretty good at this game and go through levels fast. I’m at level 460 right now. The worst levels in the game for me were 181, 275, 350 and the worst of all was 421. Took me 2 days to finish that one.
440 is really getting on my nerves. Those dang tornadoes have to b programmed to keep u from winning
461 is the hardest one
112. Disgusting. Not because it’s difficult in any way, but if you manage to blow up the first bomb within 10 moves then you’re lucky. Hate relying on the right candies coming out simply to theoretically start a level.

421 is stupid ridiculous. It is easily the hardest level I’ve encountered. I’ve been on it for weeks. The closest I’ve come is 1 combo left with 13 moves to get it. Failed. I even used 3 switches and 5 lollipop hammers! I won’t play the level again until I have 10 hammers and several switches banked up from the daily bonus spin. I play only on facebook, so I don’t know if it is different than on other platforms.
Why hasn’t anyone mentioned level 277? I got great advice here for 273 but can’t find much about 277…Also most things I’ve read say 277 starts you out with 9 wrapped candies enclosed in jelly gut that is not always the case, sometimes there are only 4 or 5….19 wrapped candies is asking a bit too much I think…

@LaurieS If you think 277’s 19 wrapped is too much (9 of which are already provided), wait till you get to 347.
Level 86, 92, 323, 350 and 461 are hardest so far. I just finished level 461 with the help of one bubble gum and one hand swift candy.
421. No other level is even close. I’m ready to quit the game.

417, by far, and I’ve done all of them (and most of the shadow world as well).
Level 421 was awful. It took me 3 weeks to get through it. I am now on level 425 and it is worse. It is all luck and I don’t know if I’ll ever beat it.
I m raging because of the frustrating level 347!!!!
421 is close to ending the game for me. I’ve been stuck for weeks. I’ve been stuck at other levels for a few days before but nothing has come close to 421!
ever since 65 i realized when candy crush is ready to give you the win it will. been stuck on 350 400 421 and now 425. 421 decided to just hand me the win with 15 moves left after days of not getting closer than 3 combos left. just a time killer for me no real skill needed
His has level 350 not been mentioned? I was stuck on this level for 2 months!
421 was hands down the hardest for me. I was stuck for at least 5 weeks.
I had been playing from my phone. I signed on to my actual computer to play thru Facebook and I passed it on my very first try with 14 moves left to go! On the phone 7 combos requires and only 5 combos required on the computer. Now, I’m stuck on 425 and the bombs explode and won’t allow me to make more than 11 moves
