#Microblog Monday 272: Relaxation Hangover
Not sure what #MicroblogMondays is? Read the inaugural post which explains the idea and how you can participate too.

There is a reason why I usually don’t give myself downtime. It is so much harder to get back into work after spending most of the weekend lying around in my pyjamas, reading books and watching television. And eating crap. And sleeping whenever I felt like it.
It’s like I have a relaxation hangover after imbibing too much relaxation. Whereas on a normal weekend, I imbibe a moderate amount of relaxation, so the afterward isn’t quite so drastic.
While the weekend was lovely, I’m finding it very difficult to be back in regular clothes today.
How was your weekend?

Are you also doing #MicroblogMondays? Add your link below. The list will be open until Tuesday morning. Link to the post itself, not your blog URL. (Don’t know what that means? Please read the three rules on this post to understand the difference between a permalink to a post and a blog’s main URL.) Only personal blogs can be added to the list. I will remove any posts that are connected to businesses or are sponsored post.

My weekend was excellent, thank you. I found out at the last minute that a tech group my son belongs to had an event so he got to go, I got to help out a friend, have great bagels (which is hard here) and spent some time alone with my daughters and my 2 lousy football teams played each other so this was the one week of the season when I couldn’t lose.
My weekend was OK. My sons had 2+ hours of flag football games on Saturday morning, and I met my BFF for lunch afterward. Spent the afternoon relaxing and had dinner out with my husband.
I’d planned to spend Sunday morning working, and I did, but it bled into the early afternoon, and I still didn’t accomplished all I’d hoped to do. And then I woke up this morning and realized that my decision to put off doing my laundry was a poor one because now none of my work pants are clean. D’oh!
And I’m in the office today despite the fact that it’s a federal holiday and my sons have no school. *sigh*
I want a relaxation hangover! It was a typical weekend, running around with activities.
It was all right… nothing overly special. Stayed fairly close to home. We had a better-than-anticipated dinner out at a local sports bar on Saturday night, and made beef stew in the crockpot for dinner on Sunday. Yum!
I could see how the contrast could be harsh — that you have all this super chill time and then have to get back to reality, and it’s a bit of a shock. My weekend was pretty good — cleaned the house, did some last minute garden cleanup before the snow, read, played ping pong…but I am spoiled and have today off. And although I don’t think it’s likely, it’s possible that we might not have school tomorrow because of a winter storm dumping 7-12 inches of snow, most of it tonight into tomorrow morning. So my shock will come tomorrow (or maybe Wednesday!).
I love lazy weekends or holidays. I often feel renewed enthusiasm afterwards. Maybe you just needed another day or two of rest, to fully rest, relax and recuperate. After all, I bet your idea of a lazy weekend is my idea of a busy one!
Generally, I had a good weekend. But then, Sunday came. Sundays are filled with anxiety and stress because there’s soooooo much to do to get ready for the week. Ugh!
I love lazy weekends. Though most weekends tend to be about getting out and doing stuff, but I love our family movie and popcorn time. And those lazy afternoons, just reading and grabbing forty-two winks.
That’s how I feel rejuvenated enough to return to work on Mondays.
I guess to each his/her own. 🙂
There is the rub.
I’m thinking I don’t really know how to relax to the degree that you do. I’m a bit envious.
My weekend was all right. I did sleep much of Saturday, but that was due to feeling under the weather.
