International Blog Delurking Week

It may or may not be International Blog Delurking Week. The first full week of January is when we’re supposed to slither out of the reading closet and check in with an “I’m here” comment. I’m not sure if anyone does this anymore. Back in the olden days, people would pop up out of the woodwork. Nowadays, not so much.

So let’s see what happens.

So welcome to International Blog Delurking Week. I make a badge every year to mark the occasion, and I give you full permission to right click and grab it for your very own.

My reward for remembering to do this (when I could have just as easily forgotten) is that you have to delurk for this worldwide holiday, which is super serious and important. Right?

It is fairly easy. Leave a comment in the comment section below admitting that you’re here. You can simply raise your hand and meekly admit that you’re here with a simple, one-word “here” comment; or you can proudly raise your hand and tell us all a bit about yourself (my preferred method); or you can tell me what type of cookie you’d be if you were a lump of cookie dough (see, I’m trying to make it easy for you by even providing a comment prompt). The point is that I want to know about the people who read me, since there is a huge discrepancy between the number of readers in actuality and the number of readers I actually know are reading. Or a tongue-twister like that.

And that’s all you have to do to celebrate.

So (clears throat to nudge you along), who is here?

🙋🏻‍♀️Here! Nancy from Mass! I’ve been reading your blog for a loooonnng time! Very much a lurker, I have 21 year old b/g twins and a 15 year old daughter. I especially love your posts on organization and the articles you come across and share with us. I love that you link through Facebook! Oh my cookie dough doppelgänger would have to be salted caramel peacan; sweet, salty and a little nutty! Happy delurking week!

I’m here! (But you knew that already, right?) Been here, if not since the beginning, at least mid-2007, and then started my own blog that fall, with your encouragement. 🙂 Living a (mostly) good life without children after stillbirth (Katie, 1998) & unsuccessful infertility (1999-2001) treatments. Thankful for you, this blog & the many wonderful women I’ve connected with through blogging over the past 12+ years.

Oh, and my cookie dough doppleganger would probably be oatmeal chocolate chip. (I use Hillary Clinton’s recipe from the Family Circle magazine bakeoff… whatever you think of her politics, her recipe makes great cookies, lol.)

Here! I have no idea when I started reading your blog, but for sure it was back in the days when Julie from a little pregnant, Tertia, and indigo girl to name a few were blogging. I myself had one child, experienced secondary infertility and was never able to have another. You were (and are!) a huge resource. So thank you.

Here since 2010 : )

Blogging is a different world these days, but still so important and lots of fun. So glad you are still here, Mel. Thank you for holding space for these conversations.

Lump o’ Tollhouse here.

Reader since 2007. When finding you rocked my world.

No surprise that I’m here! Been reading since around the time I started my No Kidding blog in November 2010. Still not kidding, trying to travel as much as possible, taking advantage of this life without kids.

I’d be shortbread – full of butter! At this time of year at least, because I’ve spent a lot of time the last month baking and cooking, as I’ve chronicled at my Separate Life blog.

I pop by now and then; still like my virtual real estate and the occasional visits with others. Working on other projects at the moment, and hoping that January-the-month-from-hell doesn’t eat them alive.

Here! Great place to find out about other blogs as well as read yours!

Hi! Been reading here since around 2012, enjoy stopping by to read regularly.

Hmmm, cookie type…I think I would be citrus infused gingerbread – a little spicy, a little sweet, and just fussy enough to need the extra zest in it ;).

Candice here, I am happy to be here. If we’re just talking cookie dough, then I’d be a classic sugar cookie who likes to transform into different shapes. If we’re taking baking, I’m a mountain cookie full of everything: chocolate, nuts, raisins. I’ve been reading since about 2010? Maybe?

I’m here twice. Both as me and as my secret blog and which account I read with really depends on where I’m coming in from and what cookies are on my computer at any given time. I don’t know if I count twice or reduce your active reader count by one.
I’d be a hermit, because then I’d be my husband’s favorite cookie. (awwww). Or an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie. Because then I could be totally awesome instead of splitting my awesomeness between two different cookies.

I’m here, been reading since 2016 but have been more consistent since 2018. If I were a cookie… I’d be an oatmeal, coconut, chocolate chip cookie.

Here! I’m Bri, found your blog and lurked through my darkest period..2011-2016 and slowly started commenting a bit the past few years. I appreciate how consistent you post, your infertility knowledge and the support you show all blogs. I found most of my favorite blogs through you! So thank you! Still battling infertility but blessed beyond measure to have a son through gestational surrogacy in 2016. As for the cookie, I’d be an extra chewy peanut butter chocolate chip because you either love me or hate me…no in between..ha!

I’m here! I’m not a blogger or writer. Just a lurker. Your blog is linked to another blog I used to follow. She stopped posting in 2017, but I still go through her site to find you. I appreciate that you regularly post. I have twins myself, but they are 4.

I just won’t go away! Apparently, I’ve been around since 2008. I don’t blog any more. But I still like reading everyone else’s blogs!
