#Microblog Monday 302: Paste Party
Not sure what #MicroblogMondays is? Read the inaugural post which explains the idea and how you can participate too.

When I first heard about a “paste party” on Twitter, I assumed it meant everyone showing off pictures of their fake jewelry. Like tweet after tweet of rhinestones.
I’m not very bright.
A paste party is when you hit “command-v” (or however you paste after you copy something to your phone or computer’s clipboard) and paste whatever you copied last. Andy Baio describes it as “a momentary snapshot of digital ephemera, to be used and immediately discarded, much of it never meant to be seen by anyone and stripped of all context.”
I loved it. Much better than rhinestones.

Are you also doing #MicroblogMondays? Add your link below. The list will be open until Tuesday morning. Link to the post itself, not your blog URL. (Don’t know what that means? Please read the three rules on this post to understand the difference between a permalink to a post and a blog’s main URL.) Only personal blogs can be added to the list. I will remove any posts that are connected to businesses or are sponsored post.

I would be no fun, as most things I copy are links to articles. Context not really required…
That’s a funny kind of party. Like a patchwork quilt of short-term-memory thoughts.
That does sound fun! I imagined the jars of paste I used as a kindergartener. Which made no sense at all.
I would be no fun at one of these parties, as 90% of my copy-and-paste items are just case names and numbers.
That would be fun! I don’t mind hosting this kind of party.
You share the most interesting things, Mel!
I checked those paste parties out, fun to see that info completely out of context
I’m immediately sceptical, and wonder how many people would “curate” their so-called random paste. Or maybe my scepticism just reflects what I would do! I just tried to see what mine would be – it was blank, as I’ve just turned on my laptop this morning. Wasn’t that convenient? lol
Oooohhh…I wonder what my paste would be. I copy and paste all day long. 😀
Sounds like an interesting concept… Although I was thinking like glue-sniffing at first, so a little darker than fake rhinestones but similarly dense!
