The 15th Anniversary of the Roundup
With the exception of a few weeks here and there, the Friday Blog Roundup has officially been running without a break for fifteen years. So 15 years, about 780 posts (let’s round down because I’ve probably missed 10 over the years—so 770 posts), about 3080 of your posts highlighted.
3080 little paragraphs capturing what stayed with me after I stopped reading the post.
It is funny to see it change over the years—figuring out hyperlinks and then linking to the post instead of the main URL for the blog!—and sad to see people gone; either truly gone or stopping their blog.
Once upon a time, every single post was called Friday Blog Roundup. It took me a long time before I started numbering them so people could tell the posts apart, and even then, I messed up the numbering at some point over the years.
So happy anniversary, little Roundup. In two days, we begin your sweet 16.
If I’ve ever highlighted you, drop the post (if you remember one) in the comment section. If I haven’t highlighted you, drop your blog URL in the comment section so I can make sure to read it.

Happy Anniversary, Roundup! I love the way you highlight interesting things, and share your spotlight with others.
You are one of the best parts of the internet, Mel. Thanks for being here for me for so long.
Wow — 15 years of great reading! I have been introduced to so many great blogs and bloggers through the Friday Roundup. Thank you SO much, Mel! <3 I always look forward to reading on Friday mornings! 🙂
At the risk of sounding immodest, my blog posts have been featured in the Friday Roundup a whopping 87 times in 13 & 1/2 years — that's 6-7 posts per year, on average. I can tell you that because a couple of years ago, I was curious about when I first made the Roundup and went searching through old Roundups to see if I could pinpoint that very first time. Then I got the bright idea of searching your old Roundups for ALL my featured posts, and then tagging those posts on my own blog as "Stirrup Queen's Friday Blog Roundup pick." 🙂
Anyway, every one of those 87 times has felt like someone just handed me an Oscar. 😉 I'm not going to give you 87 links 😉 but here's that very first one, from November 2007, about a month after I started my blog. It was also my personal choice for my submission to the Creme de la Creme that year.

I feel like you *did* feature one of my blog posts in the Friday Round-Up once, YEARS ago, but I’ll be darned if I can remember which post. Happy birthday to the Round-Up!
Oh wow, what a service you’ve provided! I’ve read so many good posts over the last 4 or 5 years because of your Friday Blog Roundup. Thank you!!
I’m a newish blog reader (< 1 year) and I think I entered a bunch of Microblog Mondays because I LOVED the idea. Then I didn't want it to seem like I was intruding on what seemed to be a close-knit community so I stopped. Imagine my ecstatic surprise when I made a Roundup anyway! Thank you, Mel! This was the poem you highlighted.

Woo hoo, happy anniversary, Roundup! I have so appreciated reading the highlighted posts, and get such a thrill when one of mine is among them. I actually will see it and yell to Bryce “I made the Roundup this week!” even if we are in the car together. 🙂
Of my new space’s posts, this was one I loved that made the roundup:

I love that the Roundup introduces me to new people I might not have found otherwise. Thank you for curating it!
I really like the thoughtful posts here and interesting links. Your book reviews are my favorites (and I really like reading all the comments that share book titles).
My posts have been mentioned a couple of times on the Roundup. Thank you!
