860th Friday Blog Roundup
I ruined a show for myself. We started watching Mare of Easttown, and I loved the first episode. Josh commented that the SNL sketch he had seen suddenly made a lot more sense, and he showed it to me. But the sketch contained at least one spoiler, so I assumed it contained other spoilers. Like the murderer.
I was upset and decided to Google to see if the sketch contained the ending, and one of the first hits was a post that said it didn’t but the murderer was… And listed the ending. In the Google preview. So I now definitely do know the ending, one episode in.
I’m not sure what I’ll do now. I definitely wasn’t in the mood to watch it anymore that night. But maybe it’s worth watching just to see how the story unfolds?
I hate when people post or say spoilers. Especially mysteries.

Stop procrastinating. Go make your backups. Don’t have regrets.
Seriously. Stop what you’re doing for a moment. It will take you fifteen minutes, tops. But you will have peace of mind for days and days. It’s the gift to yourself that keeps on giving.
As always, add any new thoughts to the Friday Backup post and peruse new comments in order to find out about methods, plug-ins, and devices that help you quickly back up your data and accounts.

And now the blogs…
But first, second helpings of the posts that appeared in the open comment thread last week. In order to read the description before clicking over, please return to the open thread:
- “The Odds” (March Is for Daffodils)
- “Pronatalism and Those ‘as a Parent’ Comments” (No Kidding in NZ)
Okay, now my choices this week.
Finding a Different Path has done what we all wish we had done: Tell solicitors to take her off the “get a student loan for your child” list. Seriously. I cannot tell you how many baby product offers or formula coupons I got in the mail that were salt in the wound. Cheering her on and wishing I had thought to do the same thing.
I remember the television show The Road Less Travelled writes about. I think I saw one episode before I turned it off. I had a fertility clinic in my real life; I didn’t need a fictional one in my relaxation time. But I like the heads up because I will probably also avoid Virgin River.
Lastly, No Kidding in NZ has a post about the upcoming World Childless Week and provides links to old posts that touch on some of the topics that will be discussed during that week. So I link to one post, but you get dozens of extra links, too. Lots to read.
The roundup to the Roundup: Spoilers suck. Your weekly backup nudge. And lots of great posts to read. So what did you find this week? Please use a permalink to the blog post (written between August 27 – September 3) and not the blog’s main url. Not understanding why I’m asking you what you found this week? Oh no! We loved loved loved Mare of Easttown but we avoided anything online. I definitely think we wouldn’t have enjoyed it nearly as much if we’d known – I had such a nice time shouting theories at the screen. But it’s a great show and Kate is so fabulous.
I love spoilers! I will read everything about stuff so I can know what’s going to happen! My favorite thing to do is watch a “based on real events” movie and see how long I can go before I have to look up the real story. Mwah-ha-ha-ha-ha!
UGH, I’m sorry that the show got spoiled for you. I am of two minds about spoilers online because I sometimes want to “skip ahead” to see if I want to watch (or continue watching) a movie or show. My husband loved that show, and I watched a few episodes (too heavy/dark for me overall but very well done).
(Very) belated thanks for the mention!
