#Microblog Monday 384: Looking at the Ocean
Not sure what #MicroblogMondays is? Read the inaugural post which explains the idea and how you can participate too.

When we go to the beach in the winter, the parking lot is mostly empty. We park, facing the water, and crack the windows so the car doesn’t get stuffy. If it’s not too cold out, the car remains warm enough with the sun streaming through the windshield. We can leave the car off and relax for the day, reading and eating and generally remaining sand-free unless we take a walk.
This article about feeling a sense of community with other car-at-the-beach-goers made me feel a sense of community, though the words on the screen.
As much as I like being on the sand, I think part of me prefers when we’re all hanging out in the car. Enjoying the ocean but everything neat and clean and comfortable.

Are you also doing #MicroblogMondays? Add your link below. The list will be open until Tuesday morning. Link to the post itself, not your blog URL. (Don’t know what that means? Please read the three rules on this post to understand the difference between a permalink to a post and a blog’s main URL.) Only personal blogs can be added to the list. I will remove any posts that are connected to businesses or are sponsored post.

That sounds like the best way to enjoy the ocean. Ever.
Same. Always. And books.
I’m nowhere near the ocean (and it’s still pretty cold to sit in the car by a large body of water for too long hereabouts, unless you turned the heat on now & then…) — but I’ve almost always lived within a half-hour’s drive of water, even just a small lake or river. There is something very calming & soothing about being by the water, isn’t there?
I’m all about remaining sand-free! lol We’ve been having picnics at a favourite little cove/beach this late summer. The best part about it is the big lawn where we can sit, and remain sand-free! I’m hoping I can continue to enjoy it over winter too, outside if wind permits, or in the car too. We’ve had plenty of picnics in the car over the years – it is usually the wind that keeps us in the car and off the beach, rather than the cold temperatures. I love watching the waves.
I think I just like hanging (and hiding) out in the car! I especially like to do this when I’m at work and have a lot of work to get done. The car is the best office!
I didn’t know this was a thing! It sounds idyllic actually — the fresh air and smell of the water without the mess 🙂
