#Microblog Monday 413: Summary
Not sure what #MicroblogMondays is? Read the inaugural post which explains the idea and how you can participate too.

This is the coolest tool. (I know I say that a lot but technology is amazing.) Let’s say there is a long video, and you’re not sure you want to watch it because you don’t know what it’s about. You could scroll around and see what you can glean, or you can put the video through this tool and it will pop out a summary.
So, for instance, I found this video of someone driving around Chincoteague.
It returned: “The Chincoteague Island Scenic Drive is a beautiful drive that takes you along the island’s coastline. You’ll see beautiful views of the water, the island’s wildlife, and the Historic District. The drive is perfect for those who want to experience the beauty of the island. The video is a 4K travelogue of the scenic drive on Chincoteague Island, Virginia, narrated by a foreign tourist. The tourist enjoys the scenery and sounds of the island, including the wild horses.”
Isn’t that brilliant?

Are you also doing #MicroblogMondays? Add your link below. The list will be open until Tuesday morning. Link to the post itself, not your blog URL. (Don’t know what that means? Please read the three rules on this post to understand the difference between a permalink to a post and a blog’s main URL.) Only personal blogs can be added to the list. I will remove any posts that are connected to businesses or are sponsored post.

Right, now I just need a bot to put every video through that, so every video has a thorough summary!
I’m with “a”! Also all podcasts. I’m gearing up to write a post about podcasts. I did get kind of entranced with that video, but wouldn’t commit the time to watch more of it. Maybe if I was on an exercycle or something.
Whaaaaat? Who is doing these summaries? This is mad sorcery! The first video I put through said “this video cannot be summarized, try a different one” which was interesting. Then the next two were oddly succinct and accurate, and came up really fast. So, are they pre-written? Is it generated by AI on the spot using all the keywords? How do they take a 20 minute video and summarize it in seconds? I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS!
I love blogs–so clearly, I like when strangers share. But I can’t bring myself to consume videos or podcasts because there’s no possibility of skimming and what if they’re boring?! So thanks, I’ll go check this doodad out!
