#Microblog Monday 418: Childhood in a Nutshell
Not sure what #MicroblogMondays is? Read the inaugural post which explains the idea and how you can participate too.

I’ll admit that when I first saw the title “Why Did We All Have the Same Childhood,” I immediately rejected the idea. We didn’t all have the same childhood. Except, it turns out, we did.
BOOBS on a calculator, cootie catchers, and peeling off dried Elmer’s glue are all part of my childhood. And if you’re a certain age, they are probably part of yours.
I love this article (and that play still happens!). Do the moments they mention transcend North America and the UK?

Are you also doing #MicroblogMondays? Add your link below. The list will be open until Tuesday morning. Link to the post itself, not your blog URL. (Don’t know what that means? Please read the three rules on this post to understand the difference between a permalink to a post and a blog’s main URL.) Only personal blogs can be added to the list. I will remove any posts that are connected to businesses or are sponsored post.

I’m glad you included the caveat of being of “a certain age” — because (at risk of dating myself here…!) calculators were only JUST coming into use when I was in junior high/high school (and were, in fact, forbidden during tests & exams). I don’t remember “BOOBS” but I do remember “HELL” — two 7s, a 3 and a 4, turned upside down. And I was not familiar with the term “cootie catcher” — but when I clicked over on the link, I realized we did indeed have them when I was a kid — I just don’t remember what we called them, or if we called them anything in particular?
