924th Friday Blog Roundup
I’m going to take a lighter writing day this week. Less yoga, more sleeping. Less screen time, more bothering my guinea pig time. You get the point.
I’m feeling burned out at the end of the year. I need time to sit on the sofa in my pyjamas. Doing nothing.

Stop procrastinating. Go make your backups. Don’t have regrets.
Seriously. Stop what you’re doing for a moment. It will take you fifteen minutes, tops. But you will have peace of mind for days and days. It’s the gift to yourself that keeps on giving.
As always, add any new thoughts to the Friday Backup post and peruse new comments to find out about methods, plug-ins, and devices that help you quickly back up your data and accounts.

And now the blogs…
But first, second, helpings of the posts that appeared in the open comment thread last week. To read the description before clicking over, please return to the open thread:
- None… sniff.
Okay, now my choices this week.
The Road Less Travelled has a post about changing Christmas traditions. When her sister mentions that their parents need to give up hosting Christmas, she reflects on Christmases past and how she imagined Christmases future. She writes, “I don’t know what the future holds, or where we’ll all be next Christmas — but I’m going to enjoy this one, here & now, while & how I can.” I love that.
Lastly, Finding a Different Path has a post about fake trees, and she answers everything I’ve been wondering about. Moreover, this sentiment fits nicely with the post above: “ It’s nice to break with tradition and make new ones when you remake your life. This tree fits us and our life now. And it’s beautiful.” Here’s to old traditions and new traditions, wherever they take us.
The roundup to the Roundup: Lighter blogging time coming. Your weekly backup nudge. And lots of great posts to read. So what did you find this week? Please use a permalink to the blog post (written between December 16 – 23) and not the blog’s main URL. Not understanding why I’m asking you what you found this week? I thought I had a post lined up for second helpings. But now I can’t find it! On second thoughts, I think it was Loribeth’s but you rightly chose that in your list.
I do think taking a break from detailed postings is a good idea. You deserve a seasonal/NY break, if any of us do! Thanks for all the good work you do here keeping together the remnants of our blogging community, and I wish you and your family, and all the readers here, a very Happy New Year!
Thanks for including me! Glad to shed light on (at least my) tree decisions. 🙂 Oh my goodness, pyjamas and guinea pigs and doing nothing sounds wonderful. I don’t feel like 2022 was the WORST year, per se, but for some reason I find myself particularly depleted at the end of it. Take your time to rest and enjoy the big pile of nothing! I will come back to put a second helping up, promise!
I loved Mali’s post for its honesty and there restraint she showed in the face of some marathon insensitivity.
