#Microblog Monday 425: Need a Project
Not sure what #MicroblogMondays is? Read the inaugural post which explains the idea and how you can participate too.

I don’t really need a project, except that I kind of love being in the middle of something. My crocheting skills pretty much end in scarf-land. Because I can make a scarf, I can also make a blanket (which is kind of just a big scarf). But for whatever reason, until I saw this picture, I didn’t think about how I could make a shawl. I could go out and buy the most delicious blue yarn and make myself the perfect winter wrap to wear while I’m reading.
This is the best idea ever. I just wish I knew how to do that edging. So mine may not look quite as awesome, but it’s going to be fantastic.

Are you also doing #MicroblogMondays? Add your link below. The list will be open until Tuesday morning. Link to the post itself, not your blog URL. (Don’t know what that means? Please read the three rules on this post to understand the difference between a permalink to a post and a blog’s main URL.) Only personal blogs can be added to the list. I will remove any posts that are connected to businesses or are sponsored post.

Please share pics of your shawl! I was a knitter and I got as far as hats and mittens (in addition to scarves) before life took me in other directions. I have the supplies to learn crochet and you’ve inspired me.
Yes, pictures, please! I only ever learned the most basic knitting and crocheting skills and haven’t done either in well over 40 years. (Remember granny squares from the 1970s? That was about the extent of my crocheting skills, lol.)
That looks SO COZY! I have never crocheted, but did try knitting a few years back. It wasn’t for me, but I so admire people who can do crochet/knit projects and have them come out amazing! Would love to see the finished project. What color did you pick?
Good grief, I wrote my post early this week, but completely forgot to list them here. Thanks for keeping the list open, Mel.
I knitted fanatically for a year or two over the pandemic (after knitting as a teenager and young adult – until we got cats actually. They made it much more complicated. Lol) I’m a good knitter, in that I can follow a pattern quite easily. So you know the shawl photo is a knitting pattern, right? I love the look of the shawl. You could do the edging in double crochet – it would give that tighter look of the knitting. (The edge just looks like garter stitch – the easiest of all knitting stitches.) And I love the idea of a beautiful blue -probably my favourite colour. Do it do it do it!
So, that edging is very easy to knit. And you could probably knit it onto a crocheted shawl. But I don’t think you can crochet it. Maybe you would like a scalloped edge? That’s fairly easy to crochet!
