#Microblog Monday 444: Getting Older

Not sure what #MicroblogMondays is? Read the inaugural post which explains the idea and how you can participate too.

*******

In honour of my birthday week (because I had to share my birthday with graduation, I think I deserve a week), I give you something fun.

I’ve had 1,225 candles used on my birthday cakes.

The moon has orbited the Earth 655 times.

There were approximately 4,029,967,636 other people alive on Earth back when I was born.

And… October 2nd, 1925 is equidistant to today’s date, with my birthday in the middle. That day, “John Logie Baird successfully transmitted the first television pictures.” Gulp.

Out of 100,000 people born on the same day, approximately 93,049 are still alive.

The history section at the bottom was probably the best part.
Enjoy it with your own birthday.

Are you also doing #MicroblogMondays? Add your link below. The list will be open until Tuesday morning. Link to the post itself, not your blog URL. (Don’t know what that means? Please read the three rules on this post to understand the difference between a permalink to a post and a blog’s main URL.) Only personal blogs can be added to the list. I will remove any posts connected to businesses or sponsored posts.

Happy birthday week! I did a birthday week last year for my significant birthday, and I heartily endorse the concept. Good for you!

Ooh, that equidistant thing might be too scary at my advanced age, lol! But I’ll go have a look. I might find something interesting, rather than something depressing. I hope!

Happy Birthday week!

That was a fun site – I learned that I will be 20,000 days old next year, and I will be at my sister’s house to watch the solar eclipse the next day. It’s good to have a reason to celebrate!

I’m not sure that I needed to know that 62 years before I was born was 1898 (as in THE 19th CENTURY!!). :p But some of the other stats were pretty cool.
